Anggraeni & Partners 2026 Milestone: Legal Excellence, Maritime Expertise, and Global Collaboration

    October 23, 2026

Every firm has a story it tells about itself. Ours, in 2026, was written less in slogans and more in the work: a new seat at the global table of dispute resolution, a magazine edition that asked whether Indonesia is ready for artificial intelligence, classrooms and moot courts filled with future maritime lawyers, and recognition for the people who make it all happen. This is a look back at the milestones that shaped Anggraeni & Partners in 2026 — and at what they mean for the clients who trust us with their most difficult disputes.

Joining the CPR Institute: A Global Home for Dispute Prevention

In April 2026, Anggraeni & Partners officially became a member of the CPR Institute — the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution, a global community devoted to a simple but powerful idea: the best dispute is the one that never has to be fought.

That philosophy has always been close to our hearts. We describe our approach as holistic dispute management — helping clients foresee risks early, prevent what can be prevented, mitigate what cannot, and resolve what remains with clarity and strategy. Membership in the CPR Institute connects our Jakarta practice to a worldwide network of companies, law firms, and neutrals who share that approach, and it strengthens our ability to support clients in cross-border arbitration, mediation, and dispute prevention wherever their business takes them.

ACTIO Edition 29: Asking Whether We Are Ready for AI

Some milestones are measured in pages. In June 2026, we released ACTIO Magazine Edition 29, themed “Human–AI Reality: Are We Ready?” — and with it, we marked thirteen years of publishing ACTIO without interruption.

The edition grew out of a question our clients kept asking in different forms: artificial intelligence is no longer just a technology issue, so what does it mean for our contracts, our evidence, our people, and our accountability? Edition 29 takes that question seriously. Its pages move from automated contracts and digital evidence to criminal accountability, arbitration, and risk-based AI regulation, all read through the lens we call our Triple Helix: Law & Rules, Risk Management & Governance, and People & Culture. As our companion analysis, Human-AI Reality in Indonesia, argues — AI readiness is ultimately an institutional question, and Indonesian organisations deserve a clear-eyed map of it.

Maritime Law: Where Our Heart Is

If dispute resolution is our craft, the sea is our home ground. Maritime law ran through 2026 the way it has run through our practice since the beginning.

This year, we stood behind the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia team at the 26th International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot (IMLAM 2026), supporting young Indonesian advocates as they argued their way through one of the world’s most demanding maritime arbitration competitions. We also joined the wider conversation on ocean governance, reflecting on why UNCLOS still matters — perhaps especially — in times of crisis and conflict.

And at the centre of our maritime arbitration practice, Managing Partner Setyawati Fitrianggraeni continues to serve on the Panel of Arbitrators of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), where she is available for appointment as tribunal secretary, co-arbitrator, or sole arbitrator — a quiet testament to how far Indonesian maritime expertise now travels.

    Investing in the Next Generation

We believe a law firm should leave the profession better than it found it. That is why legal education is not a side programme for us; it is part of the work.

In August 2026, our Knowledge Lawyer, Tiyana Sigi Pertiwi, shared insights at the Atma Jaya Business Law Competition (ABLC) 2026, where students wrestled with cross-border dispute resolution and the enforcement of arbitral awards in export trade — the very questions our practitioners answer for clients every week. Together with our support for the Universitas Indonesia team at IMLAM 2026, these engagements advance quality education in the spirit of SDG 4, giving students a genuine encounter with international legal practice long before they graduate.

Recognition That Belongs to Our People

Awards are never really about the firm. They are about the people whose names clients learn to trust.

In February 2026, our Senior Associate Aga Kristiana Silaen was named one of Indonesia’s Rising Stars 2026 by Asian Legal Business — the third consecutive year an Anggraeni & Partners lawyer has earned a place on that list, following Reynalda Basya Ilyas in 2025 and Eva Fatimah Fauziah in 2024. Three years, three lawyers, one conclusion: the next generation of this firm is already leading.

The honours reached the top of the firm, too. In the 2026 edition of Benchmark Litigation, Anggraeni & Partners is ranked in Tier 3 for Commercial and Transactions in Indonesia, and Managing Partner Setyawati Fitrianggraeni is named a Litigation Star in the same practice area — an individual recognition that reflects the cases she leads and the judgement behind them, following her Litigation Star listing in the 2024 edition.

Recognition also found the firm’s knowledge team. In May 2026, our Knowledge Lawyer Tiyana Sigi Pertiwi — who heads the Ocean–Maritime Climate Legal Lab — was featured in Hukumonline’s NexGen Lawyers 2026, in a profile titled “Mengikuti Arus Bukan Berarti Hanyut” (“Following the Current Does Not Mean Drifting Away”), honouring her strategic thinking in maritime law and her leadership of the firm’s ocean-climate legal research.

Recognition like this sits alongside a market position we have earned case by case. We are, in the words we use ourselves, a “small but heavyweight” dispute resolution practice — known for white-collar criminal litigation, admiralty and shipping disputes, complex commercial cases, and tortious claims, and supported by deep capability in ocean and climate matters, energy and construction, trade and tourism, and technology and digital law, from data privacy to AI regulation.

    Why 2026 Mattered

Looked at together, the year tells a consistent story. We deepened our international ADR credentials through the CPR Institute. We sharpened Indonesia’s conversation on AI and governance through ACTIO Edition 29. We showed up for maritime law — in competitions, in commentary, and on arbitral panels. We invested in students who will one day sit on the other side of the table. And we watched our own young lawyers recognised among Indonesia’s best.

That is what progress looks like for a specialised Indonesian dispute resolution law firm: not louder, but deeper — more connected, more knowledgeable, and more ready for whatever our clients face next.
